SSIP 2.0 Grant

Mission:

To nurture and promote a robust innovation and startup ecosystem at SNLPCP by leveraging the creative pursuit of the stakeholders of the institute and contribute towards sustainable and inclusive growth of the economy. Currently the Institute provides following courses.

Vision:

• Incentivization of innovations and startups through academic, financial and allied means.
• Development of strategies to engage various stakeholders of the institute, enabling organizations and markets to create optimal pathways for "Mind-to-Market".
• Promotion of Intellectual Property (IP) related programs and end-to-end support for IP filing and commercialisation.
• Awareness drives and active engagement of students, faculty members, innovators and staff in innovation and startup related activities.
• Conceptualization and implementation of various interventions and mandates based on learnings from best practices in the field of innovation and startups across academia.

Preamble:

With a vision to empower the youth of the State unlock their creative potential through start-ups and innovations, the Government of Gujarat has launched the Student Start-up and Innovation Policy 2.0 (SSIP). The purpose is to encourage them to contribute to sustainable development and inclusive growth, which will help realise the goal of ‘Aatmanirbhar Gujarat’. Students who are aspiring entrepreneurs will be supported with drafting of student-led Proofs-of-Concept (PoCs/Prototype), Intellectual Property (IP) filings, nurturing of student-led innovations, guiding through the Srujan Seed Support fund, and more.

The commercialization of advanced technologies developed at SNLPCP as a result of incubation would greatly benefit the Institute as well as society at large and will contribute to the economic growth of our country. SNLPCP, intends to frame this policy document to streamline and govern Start-up and Entrepreneurship activities on its premises in line with the National Innovation and Start-up Policy (NISP-2019) of the country and Student Startup Innovation Policy for the State of Gujarat (SSIP 2.0). This policy covers the initiatives which are to be taken by the institute to create awareness among the faculty, staff and students and strengthen the Incubation centre at SNLPCP to play the proactive role in incubation of quality start-ups in near future. Further, we aim to inculcate an innovation mindset at an early stage of education to enable the students for finding solutions of the real world’s problems and unmet needs of the State and Country. 

Thus, we believe to provide a conducive Startup Environment to the students will transform their ideas to prototypes leading to successful Startups in future.

Institute Level SSIP Scrutiny Committee: 

Eligibility Criteria for Individual Beneficiaries

Any person up to the age of 35 years, who is,

• A school student of Foundational / Preparatory / Middle / Secondary level (Till Class 12)
• A Diploma / Vocational / Undergraduate / Postgraduate / Doctoral student or an alumni
• Any dropout from school / institute / university

IP Policy for Students and Startup

The Principal office will be the nodal point to interpret the institute IPR policy and set specific norms for IP sharing between MEMBER/INCUBATEE COMPANY and SNLPCP SSIP Cell

• For any IP Filing (Patent/ Design/ Copyright/ Trademarks), the grant will be directly transferred to the Patent Attorney appointed by the Grantee Institute (SNLPCP) for Patent Database Search, Patent drafting, examination fees and early publication. In this case, student will not receive any direct amount of the grant.
• For any IP Filing, “SNLPCP” will be the Assignee and it should be acknowledged wherever necessary.

Support to Individual Students/Beneficiaries

• Exposure to Tinkering Lab, Innovation Lab, Incubation Centers
• Large scale sensitization, events, and programs for developing Scientific Mindset
• Collective/Community level support system and activities
• Capacity Building

Class 9 to Class 12

• Maximum INR 20,000 per PoC/Prototype /Innovation

Higher and Technical Education

• Maximum INR 2.50 Lakh per PoC/Prototype /Innovation
• IP Support up to 100% of expenses
